  • How do I rent an item?

    You must be logged in to rent an item.

    Go to the particular item you wish to rent and click the round orange button at the bottom-right of the screen. You'll be directed to the rent page where you specify the quantity you wish to rent and the duration of rent. You'll also choose whether to pay with wallet or card

    To make payment with wallet, you need to fund your wallet first from your profile. If you choose to pay with card, you'll be redirected to paystack to make payment after which you'll be returned to our website on successful payment.

  • What do I need to register

    Registration is free and simple. All you need is a name and valid email address. On registration, a verification link will be sent to your email address. You must click the link in order to be able to login.

  • What is wallet?

    Wallet is just like you bank account with us. It gets credited and debited as you transact on the platfrom

  • How do I fund my wallet?

    Go to your profile and click transactions, you'll see the DEPOSIT tab. You'll enter the amount you wish to fund your wallet with after which you'll be directed to paystack to make payment usinf your debit card.

    On successful payment, your RentieNG is credited with the amount paid. Do note that paystack transaction fee applies

  • How do I withdraw my earnings?

    Go to your profile and click WITHDRAW, then enter the amount you wish to withdraw. Note that minimum withdrawal amount applies.

  • Is there any minimum withdrawal amount?

    Yes. The minimum withdrawal amount is ₦ 1,000.00. That is, you can't withdraw less than that.

  • How is the payment calculated to rent an item

    Say you want to rent an item of which the rent fee is specified as ₦1,000 and the damages fee is ₦200. if you're renting 2 quantities for 3 days, the calculation is as follows:

    Total Rent Fee = rent fee x quantity x duration i.e ₦1,000 x 2 x 3 = ₦6,000

    Total Damages Fee = damages fee x quantity i.e ₦200 x 2 = ₦400

    Total Amount = Total Rent Fee + Total Damages Fee i.e ₦6,000 + ₦400

    Hence, ₦6,400 will be deducted from your wallet. If you're making online payment, paystack transaction charges will be added which is 1% of the amount, plus N100 if the amount is more than ₦2,000. So, in this case, the total amount that'll be debited from your card will be ₦7,140

    Note that damages fee is refunded to you later if item(s) is/are returned intact.

  • What is damages fee?

    As a form of insurance/security, owners are allowed to set damages for their items, so renter has to pay the damages fee when renting item. The damages fee is held by the system while rent is still active. The funds are however refunded to the renter when item is returned to the owner intact.

  • What if owner doesn't deliver item I paid for?

    We recommend you send an offer to an owner first and wait for his/her response before going ahead with rent. However, if owner fails to deliver item at the agreed pickup location and time, you can file a complaint to us. Once resolved, rent can be canceled and all payments are refunded to you.

  • What if item delivered is not what I want or had a fault I wasn't told earlier?

    If item falls below your expectation, you can mark the rent as rejected and file a complaint. Once resolved, you may be refunded for service not received.

  • Where do I monitor my rents?

    You can view a list of items you've rented and rented out through your profile by clicking rents

  • What is an offer?

    Offer is a feature we've put in place to enable owner and potential renter negotiate fees, location etc. Owner can reject an offer if s/he's not interested and potential renter can keep sending offers till owner finds an acceptable one, to which s/he clicks accept. Note that it may be good to chat with the owner instead in order to reach an agreement before sending offers.

  • When do I get paid for my item rented?

    When one of your items is paid for via our platform, we send you a notification, so you can reach out to the renter to meet at pickup location for delivery. After delivery, you need to come back to the platform to mark the rent as DELIVERED. Also encourage the renter to mark rent as RECEIVED.

    Once renter has marked rent as RECEIVED, we'll credit your wallet with the total rent fee (minus our commission of 10%)

  • What if renter doesn't mark rent as RECEIVED even after I'v delivered?

    If rent status is not updated within 24 hours after you marked it as DELIVERED, system automatically marks it as RECEIVED and funds are released to the owner

  • What do I do when done with the item rented

    Get in touch with the owner to agree on pickup location and venue. Once returned, you need to mark the rent as RETURNED.

    Also encourage owner to mark rent as RETURN RECEIVED so your damages fee can be refunded.

    If rent status is not updated after 24 hours of marking it as RETURNED, system automatically marks it as RETURN RECEIVED and damages fee are refunded to renter.

  • How do I make my account verified?

    Update your profile completely: name, bank details, documents etc

    Once that is done, we'll verify your identity internally and update your profile as verified if all matches.

  • I can't post an item

    You need to be logged in to post an item

    Also note that your profile must be updated before you can post.

  • My Item is not showing is the listings page

    Items are only visible on the website for 15 days after which they're hidden

    Ths ensures we have updated data. Simply update your item details and it'll become visible.

Posting an ad on RentieNG is free! However, all ads must follow our rules:

  1. Make sure you post in the correct category.
  2. Do not post the same ad more than once or repost an ad within 48 hours.
  3. Do not upload pictures with watermarks.
  4. Do not post ads containing multiple items unless it's a package deal.
  5. Do not put your email or phone numbers in the title or description.
  6. Make sure you post in the correct category.
